We are looking for a Routing Analyst (Junior Level) to join our competent team.
The preferred location for this position is Mumbai, India.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Routing Analyst, you will be part of a collaborative team supporting marine weather routing and voyage planning for commercial vessels. This junior-level role is ideal for someone with foundational maritime knowledge who is eager to grow into a specialist in safe and efficient navigation. You will assist senior advisors and meteorologists in delivering routing guidance that supports safety, compliance, and fuel efficiency—contributing to Wärtsilä’s mission to drive marine decarbonization. You’ll work closely with colleagues across Europe India and the US to ensure global coverage and continuous support for our clients.
Requirements for the position:
- Academic background in one or more of the following fields or Education in Maritime education or relevant nautical background (e.g., cadet-level STCW certification or equivalent).
- Oceanography
- Meteorology
- Atmospheric Physics
- Environmental Science
- Marine Engineering
- Earth sciences with courses in Meteorology
- Some experience or strong interest in voyage planning, weather routing, or marine operations.
- Basic understanding of oceanographic and meteorological principles.
- Strong communication skills in English (written and spoken).
