Trainee- Mechanical Maintenance

Wärtsilä is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee - Mechanical Maintenance to join our team in the Tibat Area, Musandam Region. This role is designed for fresh graduates or diploma holders in Mechanical Engineering who are eager to develop their technical skills and gain hands-on experience in plant operations and maintenance. The trainee will work closely with experienced professionals, learning operational procedures, maintenance practices, safety standards, and administrative processes while contributing to the reliable and efficient operation of the plant.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Gain knowledge of plant Operations & Maintenance as a Trainee and follow all procedures and instructions pertaining to plant operations.
  • Support and coordinate operational activities during the shift.
  • Develop a strong understanding of plant operations and communicate effectively with team membersand supervisors.
  • Understand and implement operational procedures and working routines for the plant.
  • Assist in ensuring all plant machinery/equipment operates in accordance with operational and safetystandards. Closely monitor equipment condition and take appropriate actions when deviations are observed.
  • Monitor alarms and equipment parameters and assist in trend checking and analysis.
  • Assist in corrective actions during system operational disturbances.
  • Assist in problem-solving and root cause analysis for plant equipment.
  • Maintain operations and maintenance logs, checklists, records, and assist in preparing reports.
  • Assist with planned and corrective maintenance activities during shifts as directed by the supervisor.
  • Ensure that work is executed at the plant according to Wärtsilä and customer Safety, Health, Environmental, and Quality guidelines.
  • Support administrative activities and be prepared to work with the Administration Department as andwhen required.
  • Understand emergency preparedness procedures and take appropriate actions when needed.
  • Responsible for good housekeeping and cleanliness of all plant equipment.
  • Work in both Operations and Maintenance departments, including shift duties, as per plant requirements.
  • Demonstrate willingness to support Administration and Safety departments as and when required.
  • Maintain good teamwork and interpersonal relationships within the department and with personnel from other departments.

 

Qualification: Bachelor’s degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering

 

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Mechanical Engineering.
  • Omani National.
  • Good command of English, both written and spoken.
  • Fresh graduates are encouraged to apply. No prior work experience is required.
  • Willingness to work in shifts and learn plant operations and maintenance activities.
  • Strong learning attitude, teamwork skills and commitment to safety.
