Service Engineer

We are now looking for an enthusiastic Service Engineer to join our skilled Field Service Resources team in Nørresundby, Denmark.

 

 

What will you be doing?

 

As a Service Engineer in the Field Service Resources team, your daily work will involve performing Field Service activities on marine and land-based installations with Wärtsilä engines and equipment. Your focus will be providing high-level technical support, enabling smooth operations, and ensuring our customers receive the best possible service experience.

 

This exciting role involves both domestic and international travel for approximately 150 – 200 days per year. Thus, we are looking for candidates with a strong Field Service mindset, who are ready and willing to travel.

 

 

Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Performing Field Service activities according to the work scope, including service, maintenance, troubleshooting, and overhauls.
  • Checking and adjusting relevant systems, i.e. auxiliary equipment.
  • Assisting on trial runs and testing of mechanical and electrical installations according to instructions.
  • Ensuring customer satisfaction through performance and continuous interactions with customers throughout work execution.
  • Providing internal and external reports and as-built documentation.
  • Creating Service Work Reports in accordance with Wärtsilä Field Service procedures.
  • Collecting and organising time and expense reports after work completion, reporting and informing the administrative personnel as required.
  • Actively promoting Wärtsilä products and services.
  • Conforming with and abiding by Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines, regulations, site procedures, and policies.
  • Adhering to all safety rules and using all appropriate safety equipment.
  • Continuously expanding your knowledge.

 

 

The following will enable you to succeed in this role:

 

  • BSc or MSc in Marine Engineering, similar educational background, or qualifications gained through work experience.
  • Experience with and knowledge of 4-stroke engines.
  • Prior work experience in a similar role.
  • Positive, customer-oriented, and collaborative mindset.
  • Strong technical problem-solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in close collaboration with a team.
  • Proficient English and Danish language skills, both spoken and written.
  • Passion for professional growth and competence development, keeping up to speed on the latest innovations.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel globally 150 – 200 days per year.
  • Drive for the common goal of providing our customers with the best possible service experience.
