Electrical Maintenance Supervisor - Arkay

Your Responsibilities will include:

- Complete in-charge & responsible for gas engine plant Electrical Maintenance, 110KV Switchyard maintenance activities and troubleshooting, prepare maintenance reports, comply to safety and procedures within the limits and guidelines of Wärtsilä with the objective of meeting contractual commitment.

Position Description:

- Take complete charge of plant electrical systems.  
- Ensure maximum availability of Engine and auxiliary equipment.  
- Attend scheduled and unscheduled electrical maintenance activities apart from planning/projection of necessary spares requirement.  
- Be able to carry out troubleshooting of electrical equipment installed in the power plant independently and also along with field service engineers as well as the customer.  
- Ensure timely availability of manpower/equipment and resolution of issues in order to achieve trouble-free engine running.  
- Comply with safety standards at all times, coordinate with clients for resources, take corrective actions, and monitor staff in order to avoid accidents and damage to property and life.  

 

QUALIFICATIONS

Desired Skills:

1. Basic knowledge about:  
   - Generator, Transformer, Circuit breaker & motor  
   - Power system protection  
   - Switchyard Equipment  
   - WECS & UNIC control system  
   - Earthing & lighting system  
   - High & low voltage AC system, DC system  
   - Basic knowledge about mechanical functions/operations of Engine & related auxiliaries  

2. Functional knowledge and hands-on experience of the following:  
   - Operation & maintenance of DG sets & its Auxiliaries  
   - 110KV Switchyard O&M  
   - Common problems & troubleshooting in electrical & control systems  
   - Preventive/scheduled maintenance of electrical systems  
   - Modification/upgradation in electrical systems for performance improvement  
   - Maintaining required inventory for smooth operation of DG & Switchyard Equipment  

3. Knowledge of technical and commercial contractual terms  
4. Computer proficiency in MS Office  
5. Knowledge about OHSAS 18001  
6. Problem-solving and analytical skills  
7. Knowledge about Emergency Preparedness and Response to Emergencies  
8. Knowledge about the safety systems in power plants  
9. Any other knowledge related to the latest Wärtsilä technical developments/modifications/improvements  

 

Education:

- Graduate/Diploma in Electrical Engineering  
- C certificate is mandatory  
- WECS/UNIC tuning knowledge is an added advantage  

 

Experience:

- 4-5 years in O&M of liquid fuel/Gas Engine operated power plants with Switchyard operation
