About IM Function

Information Management (IM) function develops and manages leading ICT services globally in Wärtsilä respecting the differences in the businesses to ensure that Wärtsilä gets strategic value from the use of technology and information.

 

Purpose of this Role:
Looking for a mid-senior level ServiceNow technical expert, an individual contributor, who will be responsible for technical delivery – support, development, and consulting. Role will also contribute to technical support, solution development - analysis, design, development, and system administration of Wartsila ITSM platform (ServiceNow) by establishing best practices and by using standard tools and processes.

 

As a “Lead Software Engineer, ServiceNow”, you will:

  • As an individual contributor should take care of technical delivery - support, development, and consulting
  • Guide & mentor, assist, collaborate with the team in analysing, prioritizing, planning, estimating, and assigning tasks to the team.
  • Ensure agreed delivery KPIs are met by the team.
  • Resolve Platform or application-level issues, perform root cause analysis and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to escalate any unsolved issues. Maintain RCA documents.
  • Design and implement solutions - analysis, design, implement and test. Create technical specifications and testcases.
  • Devise and implement platform specific best practices and improvements.
  • Represent technical forums - DevForums, CAB etc. as a technical consultant and solution advisor.
  • Monitor and maintain optimal system performance. Analyse, propose, and implement solutions for system performance degradation.
  • Utilize technology know-how to automate and simplify standard working process.
  • Coordinate with business users and other stakeholders
  • Develop KMDB & KEDB (technical guide, FAQs, How-tos)

 

Main responsibilities Required As a "Sr. Software Engineer, ServiceNow" you need to have :

  • Several years of hands-on experience with ServiceNow technical components - business rules, client scripts, UI policies and actions, UI pages and macros, script includes, Catalog items, workflows, web services, reports, etc.
  • Strong experience working on ITSM, CMDB, and Service portal.
  • Good Knowledge of Flow Designer, Integration Hub, MID Server installation and management, Event management, Orchestration.
  • Experience in Developing scoped applications using Application studio
  • Experience in performing major version upgrades, Cloning activities.
  • Experience in developing by directional integration using SOAP/ REST
  • Strong hands-on experience on Web Technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, Jelly Scripting, Angular JS, JSON, Web Services, etc.)
  • Good knowledge of ITIL methodologies and ITSM concepts..
  • Good knowledge of ServiceNow Best Practices and new features.
  • Good knowledge of SDLC processes and best practices - coding, DevOps, testing.
  • Experience with IAM (Identity & Access Management) ServiceNow integration, IAM tools/apps in ServiceNow or at least an understanding of IAM concepts.
