Impact & Scope

  • Operates within the Flexible Delivery Centre delivery model for India
  • Responsible for FDC scope of assigned propulsion delivery projects (Waterjets, CPP and any other Propulsion product )
  • Interfaces with local suppliers, pre‑qualified assembly workshops, shipyards and internal global stakeholders
  • High impact on delivery reliability, customer satisfaction, quality performance and Wärtsilä reputation in an emerging shipbuilding market
  • Scope is operational / tactical, with responsibility for execution excellence within approved project frameworks and business directives.

 

Delivery & Project Management:

  • Coordinate FDC end‑to‑end delivery execution for assigned propulsion projects in India
  • Ensure alignment between supply chain, assembly activities and delivery schedules
  • Act as main local interface towards the shipyard during assembly and delivery phases
  • Track progress, risks and deviations and report status to GM Flexible DC

 

Supply Chain & Assembly Coordination:

  • Coordinate local suppliers and logistics to ensure timely availability of components
  • Align assembly planning with pre‑qualified workshops and internal stakeholders
  • Ensure assembly activities are executed according to released documentation, quality plans and safety requirements

 

Quality & Compliance:

  • Ensure deliveries meet Wärtsilä quality standards, contractual requirements and classification rules
  • Be actively involved from the start in case of quality claims or deviations
  • Coordinate root cause analysis and corrective actions together with:
    • Engineering
    • Assembly partners
    • Suppliers
    • Ensure structured and timely feedback to prevent recurrence

 

Stakeholder Management

  • Maintain close cooperation with Engineering, Quality, Supply Management and Project Management
  • Build strong working relationships with local suppliers and workshops
  • Support customer communication related to delivery execution, quality and corrective actions

 

Continuous Improvement

  • Contribute to development of the Flexible Delivery Center model in India
  • Identify opportunities to improve delivery flow, quality performance and local execution efficiency
  • Support lessons learned and best‑practice sharing within the global delivery organization

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Marine Engineering, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent
  • Experience in project coordination, delivery management or manufacturing execution, preferably in marine, propulsion, or heavy equipment industries
  • Experience working with suppliers, workshops and customer yards
  • Exposure to Naval projects and quality‑critical deliveries is an advantage
  • Experience in emerging markets / India shipbuilding environment is a strong plus
