The successful candidate will play a key role in identifying new business opportunities, strengthening customer relationships, and executing sales strategies that support our long-term growth objectives.

Your Responsibilities Include:
- Proactive customer interfacing to generate leads and sales opportunities.
- Increase market share of SLS portfolio.
- Manage opportunity pipeline and customer visits in CRM.
- Generate reports and forecast for order-intake in defined area with active use and discipline in maintaining CRM
- Update and follow up feedback from customers in India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh.
- Build and develop customer relationships in India, Sri Lanka & Bangladesh with Ship Owners, Ship Managers, Ship designers, Shipyards, OEM's, Class Societies and Marine agencies.
- Actively engage with other (global) functions and team members to capture opportunities.
- Ensure quality of contracts are in line with Wärtsilä policies.
- Customer communication and support for running projects in cooperation with Sales Support & PCM Team.
- Business intelligence and knowledge of the Region
- Owner Work for New Building (NB) Opportunities and cross functional collaboration
- To grow NB, Spare Parts sales, upgrades & retrofits for all Wartsila SLS portfolio.
In this role, some travel is required to meet customers around in the region. Be ready to travel approximately 40-50% and flexible to work on Hybrid mode.
Main Requirements in this role:
- Naval Architect, Marine Engineer, Mechanical Engineer, or Sales degree/Diploma with technical sensitiveness or at least 5-10 years' work experience in the relevant area. Previous experience from a direct sales role within the Marine Industry will be an advantage
- Good knowledge of the Marine Industry and Wärtsilä products (preferably SLS products or propulsion systems).
- Advanced experience in Marine Industry
- A track record in building strong customer relationships that enhance customer experience.
- Clear demonstrable experience of sales negotiation.
- Proficiency in the MS office package, CRM systems, SAP, PPT & Co-Pilot.
- A team player with ability to work in multicultural / international business environment
- Self-driven and self-motivating
- Continuous learning ability
- Willing to travel intensively domestically to meet customers
- To be based in Wartsila Navi Mumbai, Seawoods Office
- Lead, coordinate, and collaborate with local & regional teams to achieve business objectives
- Proficient negotiation and communication skills
- Customer orientated and focused approach minded
- Bilingual in English & Hindi.
You will excel in this role if you bring:
1. Experience:
- Minimum 10–12 years of sales experience, within the marine Industry.
- Proven track record in capital equipment sales and life cycle business
2. Qualification:
- Diploma/Bachelor’s degree in Marine, Mechanical Engineering.
- MBA preferred.
3. Skills:
- Strong customer orientation.
- Excellent communication and networking abilities.
- Proficiency in consultative selling techniques.
- Exposure to sales tool such as CRM
