Wärtsilä India is looking for a dynamic and talented professional to join our Marine sales team as Sales Manager – Marine Sales. Join our dynamic team and take charge of driving end-to-end sales processes—from prospecting to closing deals—from new build to life cycle sales while delivering exceptional customer experiences and fuelling business growth. In this role, you’ll uncover new opportunities, craft strategic sales plans, and build lasting relationships to expand market presence and achieve ambitious targets.
This position requires the candidate to be based in our corporate/head office of India operations which is located in Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra.

Main responsibilities:
- Executes and manages complex end-to-end sales processes for assigned customers or markets, from prospecting to closing deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and business profitability.
- Identifies opportunities for sales growth within assigned markets or customer segments.
- Develops and implements sales plans and tactics to reach nominated targets and develop new business.
- Identifies, researches, and contacts prospective customers and builds positive relationships that will generate future sales and repeat business.
- Refers sales leads, customer feedback, and information on competitor activity to appropriate contacts within the organization so that they can respond to changing market conditions and customer demands.
- Builds and maintains long-term relationships with customers, understanding their needs to offer tailored solutions.
- Develops profitable business and capitalizes additional business opportunities for existing customers/accounts.
- Analyzes market trends and customer data to identify sales opportunities and recommend strategies for market penetration.
- Utilizes advanced analytics to monitor sales performance and identify areas for improvement, driving continuous enhancement of sales processes.
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams to align sales activities with overall business operations and objectives.
- Leads sales initiatives and projects, contributing to the development and execution of sales plans and tactics.
- Acts as a subject matter expert in sales, providing insights, mentoring, and guidance to less experienced sales personnel.
- Engage with customers / stakeholders on maritime decarbonisation and drive the discussions towards deriving customised strategy and solutions.
You will excel in this role if you bring:
1. Experience:
- Minimum 10–12 years of sales experience, within the marine or oil & gas industry.
- Proven track record in capital equipment sales and life cycle business
2. Qualification:
- Bachelor’s degree in Marine, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering.
- MBA preferred.
3. Skills:
- Strong customer orientation.
- Excellent communication and networking abilities.
- Capability to engage effectively with senior management within client organizations.
- Proficiency in consultative selling techniques.
- Exposure to sales tool such as CRM
