About IM Function


Information Management (IM) function develops and manages leading ICT services globally in Wärtsilä respecting the differences in the businesses to ensure that Wärtsilä gets strategic value from the use of technology and information.


Purpose of this Role


Looking for mid-level ServiceNow technical expert as an individual contributor, who will be responsible for technical support, solution development - analysis, design, development, and system administration of Wartsila ITSM platform (ServiceNow). The ideal candidate will also be responsible for leading the technical support operations activities for Wartsila ITSM Platform using standard tools and processes.


As a “Senior Software Engineer, ServiceNow”, you will

  1. Analyses, collaborates, assists & tests system issues & user requests related to ServiceNow Platform and other hosted products.
  2. Resolve Platform or application-level issues, perform root cause analysis and collaborate with other stakeholders to escalate any unsolved issues.
  3. Design and implement solutions - analysis, design, implement and test.
  4. Represent technical forums – DevForums, CAB etc. as a technical consultant and solution advisor.
  5. Monitor and maintain optimal system performance. Analyse system performance degradation and suggests solutions.
  6. Utilize technology know-how to automate and simplify standard working process.
  7. Plan, execute and implement configuration and technical changes to ensure optimal Quality assurance.
  8. Coordinate with business users and other stakeholders
  9. Create technical specifications and testcases.
  10. Create and maintain support scope document.
  11. Maintain RCA documents.
  12. Develop KMDB & KEDB (technical guide, FAQs, How-tos)


As a successful candidate you need to have


  1. Overall 5-7 years of post qualilfication hands-on experience with ServiceNow technical components - business rules, client scripts, UI policies and actions, UI pages and macros, script includes, Catalog items, workflows, web services, reports, etc.
  1. Experience working on ITSM, GRC, CMDB, Discovery, Service portal
  1. Good Knowledge of Flow Designer, Integration Hub, MID Server installation and management, Event management, Orchestration.
  1. Experience in performing major version upgrades, Cloning activities.
  1. Strong hands-on experience on Web Technologies (XML, HTML, JavaScript, Jelly Scripting, Angular JS, JSON, Web Services, etc.)
  1. Good knowledge of ITIL methodologies, ITSM concepts, RDBMS. Good to have ITIL certification.
  1. Good knowledge of ServiceNow Best Practices and new features.
  1. Good knowledge of SDLC processes and best practices – coding, DevOps, testing.
