Superintendent Engineer

We are now looking for Superintendent Engineer  to join our GFS Pool in India. The primary location for this position is Mumbai - India

 

Your role and responsibilities:

As a Superintendent Engineer, your daily duties include but are not limited to:

  • Perform technical advisory for repair activities executed on customers responsibility.
  • Interact with customers during the work execution.
  • Commissioning of service products.
  • Interacting with FS back office and TS during work execution.
  • Perform internal and external progress status reports of the assigned work.
  • Create the Service Work Reports.
  • Ensure that the work is executed according to Wartsila quality, health and environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
  • Comply with the management system accordingly to what has been implemented locally for her/his position.
  • Proactively consult, advise and promote available Wartsila solutions and products to customer.
  • Perform all activities needed to reach the objectives of the position and comply with the orders, instructions, values and company policies applicable as employee and to the position.
  • Knowledge sharing ability and availability to training colleagues.
  • Perform maintenance and troubleshooting of Wartsila products
  • Check and adjust relevant systems (i.e. auxiliary equipment)

 

Requirements for the position

 

Education:

  • Diploma or Bachelor degree in Mechanical/Marine/Electrical with minimum 8 years of experience

Experience:

  • Mechanical technical experience on Wartsila products mainly DF Engines
  • Mechanical officer on Ships with Wartsila engines or similar application -Strong knowledge of auxiliaries equipment
  • On-site team leading and managing of the assigned team and related activities during the work execution (when applicable).
  • Leadership and Team player skills 

Desired Skills:

  • English, second language is a plus
  • Information Management:
  • MS Office tools
  • IM applications and IM tools

Communication skills:

  • Wärtsilä knowledge
  • Communication skills & customer relations -Motivated to learn and grow professionally
  • Ability to follow directions
  • Ability to deal with people of different nationality.
  • Ability to work under pressure
  • Able to travel for at least 7-8 months per year .
  • Able to generate technical service reports
