Program Coordinator

Our Digital Product Development (DPD) team develops digital products for Wärtsilä business units across Marine Power, Marine Systems and Energy. DPD uses a common technology stack to generate insight from operational data, to make for example predictive maintenance- or efficiency optimisation products such as Wärtsilä Expert Insight. DPD is growing team from around a 100 to 120 professionals, consisting of around 15 agile teams organised in 4 tribes, with clear focus areas, led by Chief Product Owners.


Our Digital Product Development (DPD) team is looking for a Program Coordinator to help them in taking predictive maintenance to the next level! As a Program Coordinator you will support the DPD Management Team, consisting of, Program Manager, Chief Product Owners and Architects with planning, oragnisation, coordination and reporting of program and projects within the Digital Development team. You will report to the Director DPD or the (Senior) Program Manager. 


This a permanent opportunity and would preferably be located at our office in Drunen, Netherlands, however we will also consider Helsinki or Vaasa, Finland as alternative locations.


As a Program Coordinator your work will focus on these responsibilities


  • Support planning and coordination of a program and its activities
  • Ensure implementation of program policies and practice
  • Report- and forecasts development costs per business unit, tribe and initiative
  • Execute and follow up our monthly employee satisfaction index (ESI)
  • Plan- and create content for internal communication (e.g. sharing success stories or announcing new releases)
  • Schedule and organize meetings, prepare an agenda and record minutes
  • Prepare presentation material for program management meetings


To be successful in this role we expect you to have


  • You are truly interested in digital technology, AI, etc. (otherwise you may get bored)
  • Experience in a similar or relevant position, e.g. program- or executive assistant, project- or development coordinator, etc.
  • Ability to prepare and create meaningful reports and overviews for management
  • Your overviews, spreadsheets, and especially your slides are clear and correct
  • Ability to work with diverse and multi-disciplinary teams
  • Excellent time-management and organisational skills
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
  • Detail-oriented and efficient
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience is desirable
