Quality Inspection & Classification Specialist

Welcome at QuantiParts, a Wärtsilä company! For our location in Zwolle we are looking for a Quality Inspection and Classification Specialist to join our team!

 

Job description

QuantiParts offers its customers spare parts for classic Wärtsilä medium- and high-speed engines. We employ about 80 people in Zwolle and France, with customers and suppliers all over the world. In this position you will be working in a team with two other Quality Inspection and Classification Engineers and in close cooperation with Sales, Warehouse, Assembly, Technical Support, Wärtsilä procurement, classification societies and of course Suppliers.

 

As Quality Inspection & Classification Specialist you will ensure the products, components and materials meet the design specification and required quality standards. This means you monitor the quality of all products and parts delivered by our internal departments and external suppliers, by applying the correct test methods like preforming complex measurements as hardness and roughness measurements. If necessary, you set up and coordinate the corrective actions and measures. Beside the quality inspection you also initiate and arrange the classification or reclassification of parts in close cooperation with classification societies, like LRS, DNV-GL and distribute the certificates. In this position you have the change to develop yourself into a true product quality expert who can assist our suppliers and internal departments from the purchasing phase up to the delivery of the final products to our customers.

What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

  • Take care of the inspection of received and returned products to ensure that they meet the technical requirements such as dimensions, hardness, roughness etc.;
  • Detect product deviations and define corrective measures if needed;
  • Ensure proper management and distribution of all the classification documentation of goods (products);
  • Invites and assists classification surveyors to classify and re-classify products;
  • Drive continuous improvement activities in quality and processes.

 

What do we expect from you?

  • Able to read technical drawings, assembly instructions and test requirements and perform applicable test methods and complex measurement methods;
  • You have a technical background with preferably some working experience.
  • Experience in the maritime or automotive industry will be considered as a plus.
  • Working with computers (Microsoft Office and SAP) is no obstacle;
  • Hands-on with a positive, agile and flexible attitude and attention to detail;
  • Good social and communication skills in English and Dutch, both oral and written. Basic knowledge of technical German language is a plus.
