Services Unit Controller - Latin America South

Position Description:
The SU Business Controller is a business and commercial minded consultant-like partner. (S)he partners up with other functions outside of finance, especially sales and operations. (S)he is proactive, externally focused and future oriented, - however has the solid uncompromised know how of LATAM past 5-years development. Utilising strong networking and influencing skills, (s)he supports building of business plans and identifies opportunities and evaluates related risks carefully. (S)he is a fact based contributor who defines ways to measure and report on financial and operational key indicators to grow the top line, improve results and strengthens the cash flow.
The SU Business Controller translates results, figures and trends into understandable language, strengthens the internal co-operation and brings controlling closer to the business in timeliness manner.
Responsible for developing and maintaining close cooperation and communication with FSAS, WSSC, BCC and other stakeholders.
Supports the SU Director and Management Team developing the business on strategic, tactical and operational level and steering financial performance; ensure and report a true and fair view of risks, rewards and financial position of the Unit; develop, report and follow trends in KPI and PPI.

Responsibilities:
In this role, you will lead, manage and develop SU Business Control function in the complete unit (countries Brazil, Argentina, Paraguay, Uruguay and Chile). You actively participate in long-range planning, target setting and action planning of the Unit. You generate insights from sales funnel and share the overview and feedback to Unit's Sales and Management Team. Services Unit Controller has a strategic controlling attitude combined with the ability to generate deeper analyses.
You will analyse and manage the financial risk and performance analysis of the Unit. You are responsible to implement business guidelines and policies. You follow-up closely Unit's collection time and disputes.
You will be a member of the Services Unit Management Team and report to Services Unit Director

 

An ideal candidate will have:
• a MSc degree in Economics and 5 years+ of work experience in financial / business control environment, also in a demanding, multicultural environment.
• Good understanding of Wärtsilä's customers´ business including Contract Business.
• Customer focus and outside-in thinking approach.
• Solid understanding of financial tools e.g. Qlikview and SAP.
• Solid understanding of Wärtsilä's Accounting Manual, IFRS and Global Guidelines. In addition, good general understanding of local accounting laws and principles
• Change management skills and ability to engage people
• Excellent communication skills.
• Corporate Governance knowledge

• Ability to communicate clearly verbally and in writing in English and Spanish and/or Portuguese
