Mechanical Engineer

Wartsila Gas Solutions offers systems and solutions related a number of oil & within the gas segments. The scope includes marine LNG and LPG cargo systems, fuel gas systems for marine vessels, onshore gas terminals and biogas systems.

 

Wärtsilä Gas Solutions is a global business line within the Marine Solutions division. 

 

We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer to our office in Asker. 

 

Main responsibilities Required Responsibilities & Tasks:
- Mechanical engineer for assigned mechanical equipment delivery to Liquefaction & Gasification Systems (such as pumps, compressors, valves, actuators, pressure vessels including heat exchangers etc). 
- Establish technical requisitions and specification for procurement, bid evaluation, evaluation and deviation handling of supplier proposed standardization towards:
- Marine rules and relevant contract specific requirements 
- Multidiscipline coordination / comments
- Supplier involvement / follow-up and package execution - including FAT

 

Preferred Qualifications / Personal Attributes:
- Competency on mechanical equipment for marine (offshore) development projects including its legislations / design criteria's such as (but not limited to):
- IGC / IGF code
- CLASS rules for marine equipment
- ASME / ANSI / API standards for relevant marine equipment
- In-depth competence / experience in one or two of the equipment categories mentioned above
- Accuracy in work not affecting the efficiency
- Excellent communication skills - both internal and to external parties (such as vendors)
- Bachelor of Science or similar education
- Fluent English both verbally and in writing; Norwegian skills is an advantage
- Competence in electric installations in gas dangerous areas (Atex / Ex)

 

Software Skills:
- Microsoft products / IFS / SAP
