Position Description:


Wärtsilä North America, Inc., Marine Power, Sales Proposals R1 is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a Team Lead, Sales Support, Propulsion position in North America.


As a part of the new Marine Power Business, you will belong to the Sales business line.  You will be part of a dynamic and energetic team that develops business strategies which drive growth and profitability, support sales performance through providing steady flow of new leads and opportunities and leverage high level customer experience.


In this position, qualified candidates will report to the General Manager, Sales Proposals, Marine Power Sales


The Team Lead, Sales Support, Propulsion will have the following duties and responsibilities:

  • To assist the Sales Proposals Manager to increase sales.
  • Lead Propulsion Proposal sales team;
    • Implement sales business strategy.
    • Execute and develop objectives, processes, plans and projects.
    • Specify new products, processes, standards based on organization strategy or set short- to mid -term operational plans.
  • Assist in providing technical advice to customers in relation to service & parts requests.
  • Produce Field Service and Workshop quotations for the Amer sales team.
  • Develop standard services together with the field service & workshop teams and to calculate together fixed prices for fixed services.
  • Assist Spare Part Sales in parts identification for quicker resolution of queries.
  • Provide assistance to sales as requested.
  • Update and actively support CRM, maintaining data quality at the highest level.
  • Work closely with customers to monitor progress and timely delivery of quotations.
  • Follow up with customers on any outstanding offers.
  • Compliance at all times with appropriate QA and Health & Safety procedures.
  • Ability to use data and analytics to identify new opportunities, assist where required to develop new and innovative ways to use data as a sales tool.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Ensure that the sales support resources and way of working are optimised.
  • Ensure that offers are fulfilling margin targets or request deviation approval according to business guidelines.
  • Ensure the quality of the Sales support proposals.

  • Bachelor’s Degree, with several years of experience within the marine market; or equivalent combination of education and experience.



  • Fluent in English (written and oral)
  • Basic knowledge of Spanish and/or Portuguese language.



  • Qualified candidates may be required to travel domestically and internationally and will need to maintain a valid passport.
