Senior Sales Manager

We are looking for a Sales Manager Newbuild with a main responsibility in helping our customers fitting their vessels with Wärtsilä marine solutions. The preferred location for this position is Oslo, Ålesund, Bergen, Rubbestadneset or Stord with the option of hybrid work.  

   

The Wärtsilä Norway sales team comprise 20 skilled sales managers, responsible for a yearly sales of >250M€ within newbuilds, conversions and services, and you’ll be working as a part of the newbuilds group, a 6-person team which specialise in the interactions between vessel owners, designers, consultants and yards while providing technical and commercial management in the offering process. 

 

Your role and responsibilities   

  

As a Newbuild Sales Manager your work will include  

 

  • Maintain and further develop new and existing customer relationships 
  • Identify and/or develop sales projects, support decarbonization with a consultative and collaborative approach 
  • Execute and manages complex end-to-end sales processes for assigned customers or markets, from prospecting to closing deals, ensuring customer satisfaction and business profitability 
  • Utilising in-depth knowledge of marine solutions to brings value to both the customer and Wärtsilä 

 

 Requirements for the position:  

 

  • Technical knowledge about marine power and propulsion systems 
  • Experience with ship building process with special emphasize on Norwegian designers and yards   
  • You have a network of relevant partners and stakeholders 
  • You are passionate about the marine decarbonisation journey   

 

Qualifications/to be able to succeed in the position we expect you to have:  

  

  • Experience from marine newbuild sales 
  • Knowledge about maritime regulations within emissions and safety 
  • Excellent communication skills, both in English and Norwegian 
  • Flexibility to travel, mainly domestic
