Wärtsilä’s Energy Business is looking for a Quality Enviroment Health and Safety Officer for the Lihir Gold Mine Power Plant Operations.


The ideal candidate will be a self-starter that can work both independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team. The candidate should thrive in a fast paced with the pressurised working enviroment which is required to maintain 100% quality and safety.

- Perform basic analyses and inspections.
- Monitor and report performance of local processes.
- Participate in development of local methods,
procedures and systems to
improve the quality of the products, productivity or EHS
- Ensure that corrections and corrective actions are
defined and
implemented for quality non-conformities.
- Participate in internal audits.
- Support locally implementation of QEHS statutory and
- Participate in assigned tasks
- Manage/execute component/product
classification/certificate process.


1. Diploma or Bachelor's degree with specialization academic course in Safety Management.
2. Minimum 4 to 6 years Industrial experience as safety, health & environment professional. Well trained in all safety essential courses is pre-requisite.
3. English reading, writing and speaking essential.
4. Candidates must be contractually aware and able to deal with day-to-day contractual correspondence with the client and sub-contractors as issues arise.
5. Ability to organize and implement HSEQ plans, policies and procedures and standards
6. Ability to produce reports on time and maintain accurate records
