Business Controller, New Build

We now have an exciting opportunity for a Business Controller for New Build business for the Processing products to join our team.  The Business Controller, New Build will report to Director, Business Control, Water and Waste, and will play a key role in driving the businesses towards high performance and reaching the business targets. Location is Poole, UK.

Main tasks and responsibilities

 

  • Ensure that reliable and high-quality financial information is in place necessary to steer and develop the growth and development of the New Build Processing Product Line in the business.
  • Act as the Finance business partner for the General Manager, Project Delivery as well as the Project Managers to reach the business targets
  • Monthly financial close responsibilities e.g. journal bookings, revenue recognition and completion of group controls in SAP. Also including the timely and accurate reconciliation of all the inventory, project accrual, accrued/deferred revenue, advanced payment, GRIR and loss provision balance sheet accounts.
  • Co-ordinate the Annual Physical Inventory (API) process for the finance function ensuring all adjustments are investigated, actioned and documented
  • Support annual statutory audit process for New Build business and other regulatory/statutory requirements
  • Develop and continuously improve business processes and controls to drive efficiency, accuracy and safeguard assets
  • Hold businesses accountable for delivering business results
  • Secure financial planning, forecasting, reporting, monthly closing and other finance related activities in compliance with corporate guidelines (corporate manual, accounting manual, directives etc) and IFRS/IAS

 

Your qualifications

 

  • Solid experience in business controlling and ability to steer the business through advanced business analysis, financial planning and forecasting
  • Experience of financial reporting systems with the ability to navigate multiple systems to source data and verify data accuracy, experience in SAP is a bonus
  • Excellent management accounts knowledge with experience of managing multiple stakeholders and an eye for detail ensuring high degree of accuracy
  • Strategic, long-term approach coupled with monthly and quarterly focus in reporting and business analysis
  • Well-developed influencing, communication, and co-operation skills
  • Strong team player mindset, proactive and solution orientated
  • Be ACCA/CIMA part or fully qualified / B.Sc. and/or M.Sc. in Finance/Accounting/Economics
