IT Manager
Water and Waste business unit (WAW) is a true end-to-end business which is transitioning under new ownership. WAW is a global leader in designing and supplying innovative wet and dry waste equipment and freshwater generation solutions for passenger vessels & conventional waste management and ballast water treatment equipment for all marine segments. WAW has the industry’s broadest product offering to secure beyond compliant operations for our marine customers.
We are seeking an experienced and strategic IT Manager to lead the information technology function through a critical business transition. This individual is expected to establish the IT foundation of the organisation - owning governance, vendor relationships, compliance, and strategy from the ground up. The IT Manager will play a pivotal role in ensuring the technology environment is properly structured, compliant, and aligned with business objectives as the carve-in process progresses.
The IT Manager will be responsible for the following areas:
IT Governance & Operations
-
- Establish and maintain IT governance frameworks, policies, and standards.
- Drive operational planning to ensure IT services support business continuity and growth.
Vendor Coordination & Management
-
- Source, evaluate, and manage IT vendors and third-party service providers.
- Oversee contract negotiations, SLA monitoring, and vendor performance.
Compliance Oversight
-
- Ensure IT systems and processes comply with relevant regulatory and data protection requirements.
- Maintain documentation and audit readiness across all IT operations.
Business Requirement Coordination (IT Scope Only)
-
- Work closely with business stakeholders to gather, prioritise, and deliver IT-related requirements.
- Act as the primary IT liaison for internal teams, ensuring clear scoping and delivery.
ERP/CRM Process Documentation & Implementation Support
-
- Document and describe the business processes supported by ERP and CRM systems, ensuring processes are clearly defined, understood, and aligned with how the organisation operates.
- Act as a key contributor during ERP/CRM implementation projects — bridging the gap between business process requirements and system configuration.
- Work with vendors, consultants, and internal stakeholders to ensure system setups accurately reflect documented business processes.
- Lead or actively support the training of employees across the organisation when new ERP/CRM systems are implemented, ensuring staff are confident and capable in using the new tools.
- Develop training materials, user guides, and process documentation to support onboarding and ongoing system adoption.
- Serve as a point of contact for post-implementation questions and support, helping the organisation embed new systems effectively.
IT Implementation
-
- Oversee the setup, integration, and ongoing management of IT solutions.
- Coordinate with external providers to ensure implementation aligns with business and technical requirements.
IT Strategy & Budget Management
-
- Develop and execute the IT strategy in alignment with organisational goals.
- Own the IT budget - planning, forecasting, and optimising technology spend.
Team Building & Leadership
-
- evaluate the need for additional in-house IT support versus outsourcing - the IT Support is specifically designed to cover technical and end-user support areas that fall outside the IT Manager's primary focus, ensuring full IT coverage across the organisation.
- Define a clear division of responsibilities between the IT Manager and IT Support, so that employee-facing support needs are consistently met.
- Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring, and performance management for IT staff.
- Foster a culture of accountability, service excellence, and continuous improvement.
