People Specialist
Water and Waste business unit (WAW) is a true end-to-end business which is transitioning under new ownership. WAW is a global leader in designing and supplying innovative wet and dry waste equipment and freshwater generation solutions for passenger vessels & conventional waste management and ballast water treatment equipment for all marine segments. WAW has the industry’s broadest product offering to secure beyond compliant operations for our marine customers.
We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented People Specialist to join our HR team. In this role, you will play a key part in ensuring efficient HR operations, accurate payroll delivery, and a positive employee experience across the business. You will work closely with employees, managers, and external partners to support day-to-day people processes and contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key responsibilities:
- Maintains the data integrity of HR records and databases, ensuring accuracy, completeness and compliance of information in human resource information systems.

Ensure HR processes run smoothly, efficiently, and in line with internal standards and local legislation

Take charge of payroll for the UK and international payroll partners, collaborating closely with our dedicated provider(s) to ensure timely, accurate payments in compliance with local laws
- Supports the implementation and execution of HR processes such as recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations in various roles.

Draft, review, and manage labour-related documents, including employment contracts, amendments, and addenda.
- Enhances employee engagement and satisfaction, ensures a safe working environment and participates in training activities.
- Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees, addressing queries related to payroll, contracts, and other HR-related questions, ensuring clear and timely communication.
- Produce reports and provide data insights to support decision-making, driving continuous improvement in HR processes.
About You
- Completed commercial training, a degree, or a comparable qualification with a focus on Human Resources
- 2–3 years’ experience in an operational People/HR role, ideally within HR operations
- Solid knowledge of labour law and social security regulations
- Strong analytical skills with a high level of comprehension and confidence working with numbers
- Exceptional attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy
- Fluent in English (written and spoken); additional languages such as German or Chinese are a strong advantage
