We have now a unique and exciting opportunity for a results driven Programme Manager to lead the successful execution of new build and retrofit projects across our organisation. This role is critical to ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality and compliance.
You will oversee multiple project streams, manage cross-functional teams, and act as the key point of contact for stakeholders, ensuring alignment with business goals and customer expectations.
This position will be an active member of the Senior Management Team for the Water and Waste, Water Systems Ltd business, based in UK, Poole, Dorset.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution and delivery of projects from initiation to completion ensuring that the project execution aligns with the set project schedules, budgeting, and quality and compliance requirements.
- Predicts resources needed to reach objectives and manages resources in an effective and efficient manner. Ensures alignment with project budget, ensuring financial objectives are met by forecasting requirements, analysing variances, and initiating corrective actions.
- Identifies, manages, and mitigates risks throughout the project: Enforces policies and procedures to safeguard compliance with regulations and company guidelines, such as health, safety and quality standards, and resolves issues arising during project execution, developing resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals.
- Manage project teams, including internal staff and external contractors, ensuring clear roles and responsibilities and ensuring adherence to project management standards and best practices for continuous improvement of activities.
- Develop and maintain detailed project plans, timelines, and budgets.
- Ensure compliance with health, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
- Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels, providing regular updates and managing expectations.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience in project delivery within engineering, manufacturing, or marine sectors.
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
- Solid understanding of project management methodologies (e.g., PRINCE2, PMP, Agile).
- Ability to manage budgets, resources, and timelines effectively.
- A proactive, solutions-focused approach to problem-solving.
- Relevant degree or equivalent experience in engineering, project management, or related field.
In this role, some travel is required globally and we estimate this to be approximately 20%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.
