Water and Waste business unit (WAW) is a true end-to-end business as part of Wärtsilä Portfolio Businesses. WAW is a global leader in designing and supplying innovative wet and dry waste equipment and freshwater generation solutions for passenger vessels & conventional waste management and ballast water treatment equipment for all marine segments. Key Account Manager

 

We are now looking for a Key Account Manager to join our Water and Waste Global Sales team working for a better future. The preferred location for the position is in Poole, Dorset but also

anywhere in the UK is a possible location.

 

What you will be doing?

 

In this position, you will be accountable for delivering sales order intake to agreed business targets for water & waste products from designated Key Accounts. With responsibilities for supporting broader sales and marketing activities for the water & waste product portfolio as required.

 

As Key Account Manager, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Actively position the products of the water and waste business through key account management activities.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external key account customers and commercial partners.
  • Develop and maintain accurate contact/organisational information on each key account with particular focus on decision making structure.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders to assist in delivery of business goals.
  • Ensure the company CRM system is maintained with accurate information to provide sales pipeline data.
  • Adhere to all process gates and workflows requirements in execution of the job function.
  • Support the broader sales and marketing activities by attending industry events, exhibitions and shows.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

 

  • Proven experience in sales management, with a minimum of 5 years in a sales role. 
  • Network in the maritime industry, good understanding of stakeholders in the sales process. 
  • Very good negotiation and communication skills. 
  • Excellent negotiation and communication skills, with fluency in English. 
  • Deep understanding of sales strategies and dynamics within the maritime sectors. 
  • Ability to work collaboratively across teams and with a wide range of differing cultural backgrounds. 
  • Willingness to travel as required within the designated region and internationally. 
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a strategic mindset.

 

In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 40% of your working time.
