Spares Manager

Water and Waste (W&W) business is an end-to-end business and part of Wartsila Portfolio Businesses. Located in Poole, Dorset and Geesthacht, Germany, Water & Waste is a global leader in designing and supplying innovative advanced wastewater systems, wet and dry waste systems, and freshwater generation solutions for passenger vessels. Additionally, Water & Waste has two type approved designs of ballast water management systems and the business also continues to support the global customer base with discontinued product lines including high pressure compressors and oily water separators.

 

We now have a unique and exciting opportunity for a Spares Manager for the Water and Waste Services business, based in the UK, Poole, Dorset.

 

As the Spares Manager, you will be responsible for leading and inspiring the Spare Parts Team in delivering a culture of world class customer service. You will be an effective team leader and a confident in delivering a quality spares service to our customers as well as finding opportunities to increase efficiency and profitability across our product and customer mix.

 

Your main responsibilities are: 

 

  • Leading, motivating and developing the Spares Team in their day-to-day activities providing excellent customer service by delivering professional and efficient responses to all customer enquiries.
  • Encouraging team members in their personal and professional development by embracing performance excellence programmes and conducting development discussions alongside supporting career development opportunities and providing regular feedback
  • Fostering close relationships with the Services purchasers to enhance delivery times whilst maintaining stock levels.
  • Initiating continuous improvement activities by reducing response times and maximising the customer experience, leading to increased profitability.
  • Proactively and professionally engage with customers, agents, and distributors.
  • Quickly and effectively managing customer concerns, queries, and complaints to prevent escalation.
  • Actively contribute to driving the department forward and supporting peers with departmental development and business improvement activities.
  • Proactive close working relationship with the Services sales teams in identifying potential spares opportunities.
  • Ensuring spares data management is maintained efficiently and accurately.
  • Regularly reviewing company stock holding and making business proposals when necessary.
  • Ensuring spare parts are available on time every time in support of our Service agreements.

 

In this role, your success will be measured by: 

 

  • Customer satisfaction 
  • Order intake, revenue, margin, and EBIT
  • KPI’s set by W&W management team, which will include OTIF & Quotation response times
  • Collaboration and teamwork with other departments
