Operations Claim Handler

 

We are now looking for an Operations Claim Handler to join our Water and Waste Warehouse and Logistics team working for a better future. The preferred location for the position is in Poole, Dorset UK.

 

What you will be doing?

 

In this position, you will have overall ownership of Warehouse & logistics operations claims; monitor and control end-to-end supplier claiming process, with a special focus on corrective action implementation and supplier credit recovery; coordinate internal actions with different stakeholders in operation claim process & manage, solve and administrate supplier claims.

 

Support our 3PL partner in solving inquiries related to material supply and quality issues and act as the main contact person for the business. In addition, act as Import and Export control officer for the spare’s operation in the business.

 

As Operations Claim Handler, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Place, follow-up and settle all operations (WH & Logistic) related claims.
  • Ensure Import and Export compliance are in place and adhered in the business for the operation.
  • Liaise with the internal compliance team and make sure required documents are in place.
  • Validate customer and supplier databases that hold accurate and valid information.
  • Act as interface to supplier and internal stakeholders for vendor quality and technical issues related questions.
  • Come to a general understanding of the non-conformity and its root cause among all stakeholders.
  • Agree on correction and corrective/preventive actions, together with 3PL partner, Supplier, Quality Inspection, Purchasing, Supply Management, Technical Services, PCM, customer NC team, and Finance.
  • Coordinate internal activities with different stakeholders enabling the resolution of the claims and trigger escalations related to the operations claiming process when needed
  • Responsible for requesting, receiving and assessing (in cooperation with stakeholders) corrective and preventive actions from suppliers to avoid re-occurrence of claims
  • Update and maintain notifications in SAP in a clear way with all relevant available information (and set out the tasks to correct people/departments for clear follow-up)
  • Prioritize claim resolution based on Customer inputs and needs
  • Participate on demand to cross-divisional category teams, when applicable. Execute tasks and plans defined in and delegated from the Category Team
  • Responsible for improving vendor quality and minimising the non-conformity costs and blocked stock volume and value in GLS
  • Provides Impulses for the vendor's needs of new tools, equipment or procedures
  • Provides Impulses for the improvement of drawings, and/or specifications
  • Develops own competences
  • Stop the purchasing or delivery processes in case of severe quality issues
  • Full non-conformity process control, from notification creation to cost recovery
  • Interact daily with internal customers and suppliers and 3PL service provider
  • Follow supplier non-conformity

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

 

  • Technical degree (Eng.) or equal through experience in managing operations quality and process
  • Understand suppliers’ production methods
  • Understand Import and Export compliance environment
  • Solution-oriented approach (problem-solving), capability to implement and persistence to follow-up activities to ensure achievements
  • Service-minded, business and customer-focused
  • Analytical skills
  • Team player
  • SAP management skills, Supplier Portal, Warehouse process understanding
  • Good communication and networking skills
  • Technical English.
