Water and Waste business unit (WAW) is a true end-to-end business as part of Wärtsilä Portfolio Businesses. WAW is a global leader in designing and supplying innovative wet and dry waste equipment and freshwater generation solutions for passenger vessels & conventional waste management and ballast water treatment equipment for all marine segments. WAW has the industry’s broadest product offering to secure beyond compliant operations for our marine customers.

 

We have now a unique and exciting opportunity for a Sourcing Expert for the Water and Waste business, based in UK, Poole, Dorset. 

 

In this position you will work closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers, maintaining and creating valuable relationships and networks, you will lead and participate in contract and price negotiations and support in all OEM sourcing related matters for new build . 

 

As the Sourcing Expert you will be responsible for our OEM Strategic Suppliers with a spend of over 20m Euro’s, covering UK, Europe, Asia and the US. You will be negotiating, creating, and maintaining supply contracts, improving supplier performance and developing the supplier relationship to ensure quality, delivery time and cost targets are met.

What will you be doing?

 

  • Support Sales by providing accurate and reliable costs for key material at Tendering stage
  • Take active lead in building Procurement Plan for one or several projects (suppliers to RFQ, high level planning for RFQ and PO award…)
  • Ensure budget adherence and On time Delivery for one or several projects in execution
  • Prepare and follow up process improvement plan for one or several vendors to improve KPI (On time delivery / Automated invoices / SAP data cleaning)
  • Identify as early as possible risk of delay from supplier by doing preventive and regular check.
  • Take care of day-to-day contact towards supplier for commercial activities related to purchasing to establish and maintain good relationships with suppliers
  • Create and negotiate claim towards suppliers
  • Support Strategic purchaser on continuous supplier development.
  • Participate in development of tools and processes needed for Supply Management
  • Issue Purchase Orders, Handle Goods Receipt and supplier invoices in compliance to Supply Management processes/procedures, strategies and agreements.
  • Support in inbound deliveries when needed.

  • Excellent negotiation, influencing and presentation skills.
  • MSc or BSc in Economics or Engineering
  • Proven track record in international environment
  • Solid supply chain knowledge
  • Problem Solving and decision making oriented.
  • Fluent written and spoken business English,
  • Good communication and team working skills
  • Strong personal drive used to take own initiatives and be proactive
  • Strong experience in SAP & Office IT Tools
  • Strong Analytics Skills
