Supply Coordinator

We have a vacancy for a Supply Co-ordinator to come and join Wärtsilä Water Systems based in our office in Poole.  You will provide administrative support to the Supply Chain function to ensure the supply of goods is efficient and complies with business strategy and operational requirements with regards to cost, lead time, quality and on-time achievement.

 

What are the main tasks and responsibilities?

  • Coordinate and arrange all inbound logistics from suppliers/sub-contractors as required according to delivery schedule
  • Liaise with logistics warehouse/sub-contractors to ensure efficient goods receipt process is maintained
  • Coordinate annual stock take and ensure stock accuracy between SAP, sub-contractors and logistics warehouse at all times
  • Negotiate best cost for inbound logistics through RFQ and support tactical purchaser in annual contract negotiations
  • Manage the requesting of order confirmation from suppliers and ensure they meet WWS requirements and terms
  • Execute purchase orders in line with MRP demand and action manual purchase requisitions in order to secure availability for goods and services for direct and / or indirect requirements

  • Manage due and overdue purchase orders to maintain delivery dates and expedite accordingly
  • Coordinate issuing of delivery schedule priorities and update the MRP system
  • Progress shortages with suppliers and regularly provide feedback to internal stakeholder
  • Provide support to operational and project purchasing
  • Action invoice discrepancies and queries in a timely manner by liaising with suppliers and the finance personnel
  • Communicate progress to the Purchasing personnel and escalate recurring issues to the Supply Chain Manager
  • Carryout handovers and communicate progress on outstanding queries and tasks with the relevant Purchasing personnel
  • Maintain safe working practises for self and others in accordance with the Company’s policy on Health and Safety

 

Education:

  • A Level standard general education or equivalent is preferable
  • M/S Word and M/S Excel at an intermediate level
  • Good working knowledge of SAP or equivalent MRP system is preferable
