General Manager, FS & SLRS, SLS

 

to join our team working for a better future.

 

What you will be doing

 

In this position, you will lead a service business of approximately 40 MEUR sales and an organisation of around 130 professionals. You will get to nurture and develop a growing, profitable business, that is strategically important to Shaft Line Solutions.

You will be reporting to Director, Sales & FS/SLRS, SLS and you will be located preferably in one of the existing SLS locations globally.

 

As General Manager, FS & SLRS, SLS your work will focus on these responsibilities: 

 

  • Leading and developing business operations, ensuring efficient and effective service deliver by direct strategic planning and operational management of service activity such as field service, alignment services, urgent parts deliveries and related project management.
  • Nurture a diverse and talented workforce, providing leadership and development of teams, ensuring goal achievement and regulatory compliance.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans and developing the business and services offered to increase customer value creation and to improve service quality and operational efficiency.
  • Manage financial and operational performance, achieving targets, identify areas for improvement and improving efficiency by monitoring relevant KPIs and performance metrics.
  • Lead the business in using operational data, utilizing analytics and data-driven insights to monitor performance, identifying trends and driving continuous improvement.
  • Lead change management and adapt practices to evolving market and regulatory conditions, fostering innovation and continuous improvement.
  • Act as a representative to external and internal stakeholders, strengthening relationships and identifying new opportunities by building and maintaining strong relationships with customers, internal stakeholders (e.g. sales and SLS sites), and partners (e.g. suppliers).
  • Maintain high standards in QEHS and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and company policies.
  • Manage budgets, forecasts, and financial performance of the division.
  • Drive customer satisfaction and retention through exceptional service delivery.

 

To be successful in this role we expect you to have:

 

  • A safety-first mind-set
  • Customer and business orientation with a solid aspiration to deliver value to customer
  • Strong capability to build trusting relationships and collaboration, also across cultures and borders
  • Track record of working in the customer frontline
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
  • Minimum of 5x years of experience in field services, with experience in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of managing teams and complex projects.
  • Strong understanding of industry standards, regulations, and best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to think strategically and drive continuous improvement.
  • Proficiency in financial management and budgeting.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
  • Knowledge and understanding of SLS products and services
  • Fluent in English with relevant additional language skills beneficial
  • Willing and able to travel  

 

In this role, some travel is required to meet with our customers around the world. Thus, we hope you to be ready to travel approximately 10%, even though most of the meetings are held virtually.)
