Wärtsilä is seeking an Operator, to join our Central Africa Operational Organization based in Port Gentil, Gabon. 

 

What will you be doing:

Your work will focus on these main responsibilities:

Operate and maintain the Plant during the shift in accordance with WÄRTSILÄ policies, procedures and operating plan;
- Assist the Shift Supervisor as required;
- Follow all procedures and instructions related to the start-up, shutdown and normal operation of the Plant systems;
- Maintain all operating and maintenance records (including logs, checklists and operating records) as directed;
- Mentor other junior technicians;
- Assist in taking corrective action during operational disruptions of the Plant;
- Effectively communicate the status of all Plant equipment, any deviations/disturbances from normal conditions and other performance to his/her

 

Supervisor, Managers and colleagues;
- Monitor all alarms/parameters of engines and auxiliaries;
- Monitor and analyze equipment trend data at all times and follow up appropriately;
- Conduct (visual) inspections of all mechanical, electrical and pneumatic equipment and take corrective action as necessary;
- Comply with all safety rules (including isolation, lockout and tagout);
- Use all tools, equipment and accessories in a manner that maximizes service life;
- Ensure that the work area, machines, auxiliary equipment and tools are kept clean;
- Provide the succession team with a complete handover, bringing to their attention any operational disturbances, malfunctions or anomalies;
