About the Role
As a Mechanical Plant Technician, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the reliable and efficient operation of our power plant. This position requires a proactive professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and values teamwork. You will be responsible for maintaining mechanical systems, troubleshooting issues, and supporting continuous improvement initiatives to keep the plant running at peak performance. This opportunity is open to Papua New Guinean nationals who are passionate about energy solutions, committed to operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities :

Execute maintenance task as per daily/weekly/monthly plans, such as: Cleaning, Inspecting, removing and installing of engine components.

Be an integral part of the maintenance team. Strive to achieve common goals and customer deadlines.

Liaise closely with Team Leader to ensure work scopes are kept within budget and specified delivery schedule.

Identify risks & hazards on job and prepare JSEAs.

Tasks should be completed with good quality without reworks.

Taking ownership of the tasks executed and improve continuously by learning and doing.

Adopt a pleasant, adaptable attitude towards any duties that may be required.

Conduct and Assist the plant maintenance activities according to company policies, procedures and plan.

Ensure that all activities in the powerplant are carried out in accordance with the Company’s Health and Safety standards & regulations (including isolation, lock out and tag out) and perform emergency procedures in order to protect personnel and equipment in case of damage or failure of safety devices.

Assist Maintenance Supervisor as required.
Qualifications & Skills :
-
Technical Trade certificate/ Diploma/Degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.

Completion of National Apprenticeship and Trade testing board -Level 3 and holding certificate shall be added advantage but not mandatory.

Capable to read and understand assembly and manufacturing drawings and technical instructions.

5-6 years experience in assembling mechanical components of diesel engines, separators, compressors and screw pumps.

Should be able to troubleshoot diesel engines on various systems.

Metrology skills (Usage of Torque wrenches, feeler gauge, bore gauge, depth gauge).
