Wärtsilä Energy Business is looking for skilled and enthusiastic Mechanical Engineer. This position offers you an opportunity to use and enlarge your expertise in an international and dynamic environment with a successful global team, where many different nationalities, languages and cultures are involved. Projects, Wärtsilä offices, customers and vendors can be found all over the world. Extensive travelling is required on local and international project sites.

 

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and collaborates with the team of technicians and staff to coordinate maintenance activities and minimize downtime.
  • Manage day to day activities according to the planned and unplanned maintenance activities giving consideration to maintain good plant reliability, capacity and availability.
  • Can performs mechanical tasks such as maintenance and repairs on plant equipment, ensuring operationality and reliability.
  • Conducts routine inspections and maintenance on mechanical systems to prevent breakdowns and ensure optimal performance. Ensures that the working area, machines, auxiliary equipment and tools are kept in good and clean condition.
  • Maintains accurate records of maintenance work performed, parts used, and inventory levels. Create work reports according to guidelines.
  • Complies with all safety regulations and perform emergency procedures in order to protect personnel and equipment in case of damage or failure of safety devices.
  • Contributes to continuous improvement initiatives by providing feedback and suggestions on maintenance processes. Continuously updates personal knowledge of mechanical systems and practices to enhance on-the-job performance and safety.
  • Identifies and recommends solutions to recurring problems and suggests improvements to work practices and processes.
  • Acts as a proactive leader to subordinates as well as proactive team member to the maintenance team, proactively supporting others and cooperating with different teams to complete tasks effectively.
  • Liaises with line managers and colleagues to resolve queries and maintains external relationships in line with team objectives.

 

Requirements

  • Strong leadership and teamworking skills
  • Well versed in Wartsila 32 and W32 engines and its auxiliaries.
  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering
  • Experienced in multi cultural working environment.
  • Hands on leader.
