Main responsibilities:

  • Independently perform diesel engine, turbocharger service and repair, with ability to troubleshoot and provide a comprehensive investigation / inspection / service work report.
  • Perform hands on assembly and disassembly during major/minor overhauls on Diesel engines, turbochargers or turbocharger components and all associated processes for the purpose of service and repair, maintenance and installation, whilst both in the workshop or at customer’s site (power plant and / or on Barge), according to working instructions (SOP) and QHSE standards.
  • Hands on cleaning of turbocharger and/or turbocharger components according to work instruction, ensuring the integrity of the component’s material and dimension.
  • Receiving and follow up turbochargers and components, evaluating or inspect (Initial / Final) and recommend service /repairs job that need to be completed and spare parts that need to be ordered according to Wartsila guidelines and / or working instructions (SOP)
  • Maintains / manages of all turbochargers special tools and hand tooling, lifting and safety equipment to ensure that they are in good order.
  • Provide advice and assistance to internal / external customers on technical issues related to turbochargers and their components, the interaction with the engines and/or applications.

 

What do we expect from you?

 

  1. Qualification & Experience
  • Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering BE/BS/B Tech degree
  • Five years of related experience
  • Excellent technical product and equipment skills related to medium/large bore Diesel engine and Turbochargers
  • At least some relevant working experience on Wartsila products

 

  1. Engine knowledge
  • Ability to read and understand engine system P&I drawings and turbocharger diagrams
  • Strong knowledge of Wartsila diesel engine types and their auxiliaries.
  • Perform pre-commissioning and commissioning of turbochargers.

 

  1. Technical analysis
  • Strong knowledge of engine and turbochargers.
  • Ability to analyze and solve product related engine and turbocharger problems.
  • Ability to carry out relevant measurements.

 

  1. Other skills:
  • Communication and listening skills, ability to deal with people of different nationality
  • Ability to follow directions and work under pressure.
  • Customer relations skills
  • Motivation to learn and grow professionally
