Service Mechanic

Your main responsibilities are:
- Maintain and operate the plant during the shift according to company policies, procedures and operation profile/plan.
- Recondition, overhaul and sub-assembly engine and auxiliary equipment components.
- Carry out inspections of all mechanical and pneumatic equipment and take corrective actions when needed.
- Comply with all safety regulations (including isolation, lock out and tag out) and perform emergency procedures in order to protect personnel and equipment in case of damage or failure of safety devices.
- Assist Maintenance Supervisor as required.
- Coach and mentor other technicians and general labor.
- Ensure that the working area, machines, auxiliary equipment and tools are kept in good and clean condition.
- Create work reports according to guidelines.
- Conduct measurements of engine components and assisting in reporting.
What do we expect from you?
- Education:
- Successfully completed Tertiary and Apprenticeship Training in Heavy Dieseling Fitting with 5 years' experience
- Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering with 3 years' experience
- Marine Engineers with class 3, 2, 1 preferred
- Have maintenance experience in medium speed engines
- Experience:
- Minimum 3 - 5 years of work experience
- Experience in Power Station Maintenance and or;
- Have maintenance experience in medium speed engines
