We are now seeking a Head of PMO Europe to join our worldwide projects delivery organization. The preferred location for this permanent position would be Portsmouth, UK but Hamburg, Germany may be considered as well. 


What will you be doing?


You will take the charge for a European project management office organisation which has over a hundred of ongoing projects of various complexity and a diverse team of around 15 people spread across various countries.




  • To deliver regional projects portfolio within approved KPIs;
  • To lead a diverse regional team of project managers and engineers spread across Europe
  • Compliance to local Workplace Health , Safety and Environmental regulations


Main Responsibilities:


  • Work according to the Commercial Project Management process, using appropriate tools
  • Project Portfolio management according to set KPI’s and objectives
  • Assist Account Manager to prepare competent project offer;
  • Allocate PMO resources to the specific project in accordance with project scale and complexity
  • Ensure that Project Managers from his group operates according to the adopted Commercial Project Management process
  • Ensure all areas of project management activities from the beginning to the end of the project,
  • Identify and resolve issues and conflicts within the project team
  • Identify and manage project dependencies and critical path
  • Proactively manage changes, identify potential crises, and devise contingency plans. Escalate changes which affect project cost or payment milestones to Project Sponsor, plan countermeasures
  • Adhere to internal company and functional policies and procedures

The below will enable you to shine in this role:


  • Excellence in people management
  • Strong knowledge of project management methodologies and tools. PMI certificate is desirable;
  • Knowledge of relevant software, IT and electronic products and tools are desirable;
  • Knowledge in maritime industry, electronics, ship design, ports operations or shipping are desirable;
  • Master / Bachelor in IT or Engineering;
  • At least 5 years of successful experience on Senior Project Management position in system integration;
