We are now looking for a Field Service Operations Coordinator – 4-Stroke Services (AMER South Region) to join our team working for a better future.
The position is permanent and hybrid, with the preferred location in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
What You Will Be Doing?
In this role, you will coordinate and oversee field service operations related to the maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and upgrades of 4-Stroke marine engines across the AMER South region.
You will act as the main operational focal point between customers, Field Service Engineers, operations teams, and internal stakeholders, ensuring service activities are planned, executed, and completed efficiently, safely, and in line with customer expectations.
From service order preparation and engineer mobilization to service follow-up, reporting, and invoicing support, you will play a key role in ensuring seamless service delivery across multiple countries and customer segments, including marine, offshore, oil & gas, tugboats, container vessels, and other commercial marine operations.
The role requires strong coordination skills, operational awareness, customer focus, and the ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities in a dynamic service environment.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate field service activities for 4-Stroke engine services across the AMER South region.
- Manage service orders throughout the complete lifecycle, from planning and preparation to execution and closure.
- Coordinate mobilization and demobilization activities for Field Service Engineers, ensuring timely deployment and compliance with project requirements.
- Act as the primary operational interface between customers, engineers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
- Monitor service progress and provide operational support throughout service execution.
- Review and follow up on daily reports, service reports, and post-service documentation.
- Support service cost estimations, pricing reviews, and invoicing activities.
- Monitor budget performance and investigate significant variances between planned and actual costs.
- Maintain accurate information in operational systems and ensure documentation is updated and traceable.
- Collaborate with sales, operations, resource planning, agreements, and technical support teams to ensure successful service delivery.
- Promote and support Wärtsilä's safety culture through active participation in safety initiatives and field-related activities.
- Identify risks, operational constraints, and improvement opportunities, proposing solutions to support business performance and customer satisfaction.
What It Takes:
- Technical Degree or Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field.
- Professional proficiency in English and Spanish.
- Knowledge of service operations, maintenance activities, or field service coordination.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic operational environment.
- Availability for occasional travel and flexibility to support business needs when required.
Nice to have:
- Knowledge of marine, offshore, or oil & gas operations.
- Familiarity with 4-Stroke engines and marine service environments.
- Experience with service planning, cost control, invoicing, or operational systems such as Salesforce, SAP, or similar tools.
