Senior Sales Proposal Engineer - Marine

We are now looking for a Senior Sales Proposal Engineer - Marine to join our team working for a better future.

 

The position is permanent, and the preferred location is Rio de Janeiro or Manaus, Brazil.

 

This is a hybrid position, with an expectation to work from the office two days per week.

 

 

What You Will Be Doing?
 

As a Senior Proposal Engineer, you will be responsible for developing high-quality, technically sound, and commercially competitive proposals that support business growth across the Marine Lifecycle business in Latin America. Acting as a key link between Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain, Service Operations, and other stakeholders, you will transform customer requirements into profitable and executable solutions while ensuring compliance, accuracy, and on-time delivery.

You will also play an important role in driving proposal process improvements, supporting commercial excellence, and mentoring less experienced team members.

 

Responsibilities:
 

  • Lead the preparation of technical and commercial proposals for services, spare parts, upgrades, and lifecycle solutions.
  • Analyze customer requirements, specifications, and RFQs to define proposal strategies.
  • Coordinate cross-functional stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate proposal submissions.
  • Develop cost estimates, pricing, commercial evaluations, and risk assessments.
  • Ensure proposals meet customer requirements, contractual obligations, and company standards.
  • Support Sales during customer discussions and bid clarification activities.
  • Identify value-added solutions that strengthen competitiveness and profitability.
  • Drive continuous improvements, standardization, and best practices within the proposal process.
  • Mentor and support Proposal Engineers through knowledge sharing and coaching.

 

Required Qualifications:
 

Education:
 

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Marine, Electrical, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

 

Experience:
 

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in Proposal Engineering, Technical Sales, Application Engineering, or Lifecycle Services.
  • Proven experience managing complex technical and commercial proposals.
  • Experience working in cross-functional and international business environments.
     

Skills:
 

  • Proposal management and commercial proposal development.
  • Pricing, cost estimation, margin analysis, and risk assessment.
  • Strong technical and commercial acumen.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in SAP, Salesforce CRM, and/or Microsoft Office applications.
     

Other Requirements:
 

  • Experience within the marine, energy, power generation, or industrial services industries.
  • Knowledge of Marine Lifecycle products and services.
  • Experience driving process improvement initiatives.
  • Ability to mentor and coach less experienced team members.
  • Power BI knowledge is considered an advantage.
  • Hybrid working model with an expectation to work from the office two days per week.
  • Fluent English and Portuguese.
  • Spanish language skills are considered a strong advantage.

  • Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
