Service Engineer

We are looking for a dynamic high performer to join our fast-paced and exciting Team. Two focused Service Engineers professionals will complete our team in new marine power solutions. 

 

In this position, you are reporting to Resources Team Leader.

Responsibilities: 

  • Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan on modern marine diesel engines. 
  • Perform overhauls and repairs on 4-stroke medium-speed engines. 
  • Interact professionally with customers during the work execution. 
  • Perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work. 
  • Create the Service Work Reports. 
  • Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines and site procedures. 
  • Follow up and report on the status of work orders to customers and/or internal stakeholders. 
  • Continuously seek solutions according to best practices. 
  • Proactively consulting, advising, and promoting available Wartsila solutions and products to customers. 
  • Perform all activities needed to reach the objectives of the position and comply with the orders, instructions, values, and company policies applicable as an employee and to the position. 


What it takes:

  • Relevant technical education or qualifications as a combination of education and experience. 
  • Technical experience in marine engineering with practical problem-solving skills. 
  • Proven experience in installation operation, maintenance, and repair. 
  • Interact professionally and deliver solutions to customers during the work execution. 
  • Experience on medium speed 4-Stroke engines with electrical systems beneficial. 
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office suite plus computer and technologies skills.
  • Fluent in English with relevant additional language skills beneficial.

 

Knowledge in:

  • Product knowledge in Wärtsilä Engines and/or other 4-stroke medium speed brands
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge on engines, turbochargers, pumps, heat exchangers, fuel systems, lubrication systems, cooling systems.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of maintenance procedures.
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge on tools handling and mechanical components dimensional inspection. 
  • Theoretical and practical knowledge of hydraulic tools handling.
  • Knowledge in Electrical and Automation systems will be a plus
