Operations Management function is part of Wärtsilä Marine Power, Performance Services. Our Expert teams are in MEA / EUAF and AMER areas and are responsible for supporting +450 Marine customer installations under long-term service agreements. We deliver our services in close collaboration with other Wärtsilä stakeholders for our customers Globally.
Do you have an interest in troubleshooting and analyzing the performance of four-stroke engines? Then this job may be for you.
Our Diagnostics Analysts utilize the digital tool "Expert Insight", which highlights deviations from the expected behavior of the engine types we monitor under Marine maintenance agreements. Data from engine sensors come from the field via an internet connection and the digital tool uses both artificial intelligence and rules set up by engine experts.
We send regular notifications and monthly reports to customers, thereby proactively maintaining the engines in good condition.
We are now looking for reinforcement to our diagnostics Expertise team in our Rio de Janeiro office. Your background can be in marine operation (chief engineer etc), engine field service, R&D, engine manufacturing, or similar. Understanding the correlation between various engine operational parameters is essential to be successful in this role. Our experts should be comfortable advising customers about four-stroke engines when sensor data is noticed to be deviating.

- You are comfortable working with numbers in the form of tables and graphs
- You are willing to learn to use new IT tools
- You are willing to work in a structured way with routine work
- You are willing to work as an expert and a team player
- You have good written and verbal communication skills, as well as proficiency in English
We offer you tutoring to get into the role, and after that continuous training and skills updating so that you will become a full-fledged expert on four-stroke engine diagnostics. You will work in a team where everyone is supporting each other and discussing together their interesting cases. You will get to work with state-of-the-art digital tools (including artificial intelligence) and be part of a modern and global business. Your customers will be primarily located in the AMER area and the daily working language is English.
