Wartsila Energy Business Americas is looking for a Manager, Strategic Development for our Growth and Development team. As the Manager for Strategic Development you will work within the Energy Business in a team dedicated to identify, managing and implementing the Americas Area strategic actions. This position will facilitate continuous development of the Area action plan, align priorities with our Business Units, find areas of growth through data analytics and innovation and lead prioritized strategic initiatives.


The location is any key Energy Business location in the Americas.


Main Responsibilities:

Strategy execution - Focus on Central and South America

  • Supporting the local organizations in Brazil and Argentina in defining and implementing the Energy Business strategy and local action plans to maximize the success in upcoming Energy Auctions
  • Providing value-adding analysis for Central Americas with the goal of finding new agreement sales opportunities and upselling potential in existing ones 
  • Identification of focus countries and creation of mid- and long-term strategy and coordination of the execution for South and Central America.
  • Support local organization of South America in defining and implementing the service delivery model for Energy Storage & Optimization business


Business Development

Energy Business Americas Area Strategy 

  • Support Market Development team in defining and executing the long-term advocation and influencing plans for focus countries
  • Act as the area representative in various global initiatives - feed market input into the development work and lead the implementation of new solutions
  • Actively search, formulate and pitch new business opportunities for Wärtsilä Energy
  • Actively screen for continuous improvement opportunities in our sales and operations operating models


You are our candidate if you:  

  • Have an in-depth understanding of Power Systems and the Energy Business
  • Are an experienced professional in project management and have a good understanding of the project management fundamentals (PMBOK)
  • Have the capability to read, analyse and draw insights from large sets of data
  • Are an inspiring change and people leader with an ability to engage others into taking goal-oriented actions
  • Have an uncompromised customer service mindset and willingness to go the extra mile for our customers
  • Have fluent English skills, Spanish and Portuguese skills are seen as an advantage in this position
  • Have relevant education, such as B.Sc. or M.Sc. Engineering /Business similar
