Data & Documentation Engineer

We are now looking for a Documentation and Data Engineer to join the Technical information department (TICD3)  in Rubbestadneset, Norway. 
 

The Technical Information department in Wartsila is taking on new challenges, contributing to Wartsila's drive to deliver sustainable and smart technologies. 

TIDC3 consists of two teams: Content Management and Parts Data Lifecycle Management, focusing on technical documentation and parts data respectively.

Are you ready to jump onboard?

As a Data & Documentation Engineer your work will include creating and making available end user documentation and spare parts data for new and existing Wärtsilä products.

In this position, your work will focus on: 

• Take part in creating and publishing technical documentation for Wärtsilä’s portfolio of products.
• Improve online accessibility of technical information.
• Maintain and update existing product data and documentation in various systems.
• Take part in relevant Key User Teams and Expert groups
• Actively identify, evaluate, and implement new and innovative solutions ensuring continuous development, improvement and harmonisation with global processes and tools.

The ideal candidate will have:

• Education at university level, and/or equivalent work experience in technical writing or technical illustration.
• Excellent language skills in both Norwegian and English. Knowledge of Simplified Technical English (STE) is an advantage.
• Experience with work and software for technical information and/or spare part data.
• Understanding of product bill of materials (BOM), technical drawings and office tools.

Som Data & Documentation Engineer vil arbeidet ditt inkludere å både lage og gjøre tilgjengelig sluttbrukerdokumentasjon og reservedelsdata for nye og eksisterende Wärtsilä-produkter.

Arbeidsoppgaver:  

• Ta del i å lage og publisere teknisk dokumentasjon som støtter Wärtsiläs produktportefølje.
• Forbedre online tilgjengelighet for produktdata og dokumentasjon.
• Vedlikeholde og oppdatere eksisteende produkt data og dokumentasjon lagret i ulike systemer. 
• Ta del i relevante ekspertgrupper.
• Aktivt identifisere, evaluere og implementere nye og innovative løsninger som sikrer kontinuerlig utvikling, forbedring og harmonisering med globale prosesser og verktøy.

 Den ideelle kandidaten vil ha: 

• Utdanning på universitets- eller høgskolenivå, og/eller tilsvarende arbeidserfaring innen teknisk skriving eller teknisk illustrasjon.
• Utmerkede språkkunnskaper i både norsk og engelsk. Kunnskap om forenklet teknisk engelsk (STE) er en fordel
• Erfaring med arbeid og programvare for teknisk informasjon og/eller reservedelsdata 
• Forståelse for produkt stykklister (BOM), tekniske tegninger office verktøy
