The Technical Information department in Wartsila is taking on new challenges, contributing to Wartsila's drive to deliver sustainable and smart technologies.

We are looking for a candidate to fill the position of Data Engineer in our Technical Information Delivery Centre 3. TIDC3 consists of two teams: Content Management

and Parts Data Lifecycle Management, focusing on technical documentation and parts data respectively.

This opportunity is offered on a permanent basis, and the successful candidate will be based in Rubbestadneset, Norway.

What will you be doing?


As a Master Data Engineer your work will include creating and making available end user documentation and spare parts data for new and existing Wärtsilä products.
In this position, your work will focus on:

 

•    Improve online accessibility of technical information
•    Secure the technical information content quality
•    Maintain and develop our document management and reporting systems
•    Take part in creating documentation and supporting Wärtsilä’s portfolio of products
•    Take part in relevant Key User Teams and Expert groups
•    Actively identify, evaluate, and implement new and innovative solutions ensuring continuous development, improvement and harmonisation with global processes and tools. 


The below will enable you to shine in this role:


•    BSc in Engineering (Electrical or Mechanical) or equivalent work experience 
•    Relevant experience from Wärtsilä’s portfolio of products
•    Proven experience in working with Technical Information and/or Spare Parts Data
•    Background from technical writing or technical illustration
•    Demonstrable Experience with technical documentation software such as Component Content Management Systems
•    Excellent communication skills, with a proven ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders
•    You are passionate about taking advantage of the opportunities that lie in new technology
•    Excellent language skills in Norwegian and English, knowledge of simplified technical English is an advantage
•    You are self-driven, supportive, analytical, and goal-focused, with a 'can do' attitude
