Senior Proposal Engineer

Wärtsilä Norway AS is currently looking for Senior Proposal Engineer to compliment our sales organisation within Marine Power lifecycle sales. The opportunity is offered on a permanent basis and the successful candidate will be based in Rubbestadneset, Norway.

What will you be doing?

 

As Senior Proposal Engineer you will perform technical sales to Norwegian Customers with 4-Stroke engines and propulsion equipment. You will be working closely with your sales colleagues, technical services, field services, workshop and spare parts.

 

Your work will focus on these responsibilities:
•    Work with our customers to plan their services.
•    Identify all required parts, works and tools required for jobs.
•    Prepare estimates and offers based on customer requests.
•    Follow-up offers towards external customers and internal network organisations.
•    Assist customer with minor technical enquiries.
•    Build business cases helping customers choose the optimal solution based on their needs. 
•    Actively contribute in our continuous search for improvement.

 

The below will enable you to shine in this role:
•    Relevant Technical or Maritime qualification, Degree qualified in Engineering, or equivalent experience.
•    Recognised qualification in economy, project management or administration would be an advantage.
•    Technical knowledge within 4-Stroke engines.
•    Practical understanding of Diesel Electric Power Distribution systems.
•    Working knowledge of vessel automation systems or VSD systems. 
•    Proven experience using sales tools and calculations tools. 
•    Business minded, with a passion for excellent customer service. 
•    Proactive and self-driven with a results-oriented mindset.
•    Fluency in Norwegian and English, both written and verbal
