Senior Service Engineer

We are now looking for a Senior Service Engineer to join our Field Service Team (FS).

 

The preferred location for this position is in Rubbestadneset, Norway.

 

 

What you will be doing

 

  • You will perform Field Service (FS) activities according to the scope of work
  • You will independently perform major/complex repairs and complete overhauls
  • Possibly work all over the world
  • Work independently and under pressure
  • As an ideal candidate, you have gained previous experience from similar responsibilities

 

 

Your work focuses on these responsibilities

 

  • Basic troubleshooting (running tests, fine-tuning, adjustments, trimming related to running performance) on equipment families
  • Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety & Environmental guidelines, and customer site procedures
  • Perform installation and pre-commissioning checks and activities
  • Commissioning activities and handing the equipment over to the customer and/or shipyard
  • Be able to lead and manage assigned teams and related activities during the work execution, if needed
  • Perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work
  • Advice and promote available products and solutions to customers
  • Interact with customers during the work execution
  • Interacting with FS back office and TS during work execution
  • Perform internal and external progress status updates on the assigned work
  • Prepare Service Work Reports and travel expenses on time and with expected Wärtsilä quality

 

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to

 

  • Have at least 4 years of service engineer experience on Wärtsilä engines or similar (4-stroke or E/A)
  • Have BSc. degree in mechanical or electrical/automation engineering
  • Be flexible for projects globally with short notice for traveling
  • Have good English and Norwegian language skills, both written and oral
  • Be motivated to develop yourself professionally
  • Have the ability to follow instructions
  • Have the capability of smooth interaction with customer representatives as well as internal stakeholders
  • Have good skills in MS Office and Wärtsilä FS reporting tools
  • Be creative and solution-oriented
