Til vår feltserviceorganisasjon på Rubbestadneset, Bømlo, søker Wärtsilä Norway AS etter Service Engineers, Propulsion & Engine Controls.
Som Service Engineer vil du reise over hele verden for å utføre serviceoppdrag ombord i våre kunders installasjoner. Hovedoppgaver i denne stillingen vil være service og feilsøking på fjernstyrings- og automasjonssystemer for motor, propell og thrustere. Du må ha evne og kunnskap til å bygge gode relasjoner både internt i organisasjonen og eksternt med våre kunder. I tillegg må du ha egenskapene både til å arbeide selvstendig og i team, samtidig som du er strukturert og effektiv.
Arbeidsoppgaver:
- Utføre service og feilsøking på fjernstyrings- og automasjonssystemer for motor, propell, gear og thruster.
- Følge opp jobb i forhold til kvalitet og sikkerhetskrav.
- Utføre oppstarter og aktiviteter under oppstart etter opplæring er gitt.
- Samarbeide med kunde under serviceoppdrag.
- Orientere om fremdriftsstatus internt og til kunde.
- Gi råd og promotere tilgjengelige produkt og løsninger for kunde.
Ønskede kvalifikasjoner:
- Fagbrev innen elektro/automasjon.
- Kjennskap til skipselektronikk og regulatorsystem.
- Gode kommunikasjonsevner, skriftlig og muntlig på både norsk og engelsk.
- Serviceinnstilling, reiselyst og gode samarbeidsevner.
- Motivert til å utvikle deg faglig.

Due to an increasing demand, we are now looking for two enthusiastic Service Engineers, Propulsion & Engine Controls to join our skilled Field Service organisation in Rubbestadneset, Bømlo.
In this exciting role, you will have the opportunity to travel globally to support our customers around the world for approximately 180 days per year. We work on fixed rotation of 4 – 4 weeks. Thus, we hope that you have a strong Field Service mindset and are ready and eager to travel.
What will you be doing?
As a Service Engineer in Wärtsilä’s Field Service organisation, you will travel all around the world to carry out services onboard our customers installations. In this role, your main focus will be remote controls and automation systems for engines, propellers, gears, and thrusters. You will actively work towards increasing your knowledge and expertise, with the support of a highly skilled team. Having strong stakeholder management skills is essential, as you will aim to continuously build strong working relations with both internal stakeholders and customers.
Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to:
- Performing services and troubleshooting on remote controls and automation systems for engines, propellers, gears, and thrusters.
- Preforming installation and pre-commissioning checks and activities after received training.
- Ensuring customer satisfaction through performance and positive interactions with customers throughout work execution.
- Continuously informing work progress to internal stakeholders and customers throughout work execution.
- Creating Service Work Reports in accordance with Wärtsilä Field Service procedures.
- Collecting and organising time and expense reports after work completion, reporting and informing the administrative personnel as required.
- Conforming with and abiding by Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines, regulations, site procedures, and policies.
- Adhering to all safety rules and using all appropriate safety equipment.
- Actively promoting Wärtsilä products and services.
The following will enable you to succeed in this role:
- Diploma in Electrical or Automation.
- Practical working experience in a related role.
- Good knowledge of ship electronics and regulator systems.
- Self-driven approach to work and ability to work independently.
- Strong interpersonal skills and a service-oriented approach to help provide the best possible service experience to our customers.
- Passion for competence development and motivation to grow professionally.
- Structured and organised way of working.
- Strong technical problem-solving skills and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Proficient Norwegian and English language skills.
- Willingness and flexibility to travel as required.
