To keep up with our steadily increasing Field Service activities, we are now looking for a Superintendent Engineer to strengthen our skilled Field Service team in Rubbestadneset, Bømlo. The role is offered as a permanent contract and the work schedule is a 4 – 4 rotation.

In this role, you will lead and perform Field Service activities on Wärtsilä engines, traveling all over the world for execution of service onboard our customers installations. You will carry out and/or supervise overhauls, maintenance, and troubleshooting, while ensuring adherence to Wärtsilä QEHS guidelines, regulations, site procedures, and policies.

 

The work is carried out in rotation (4 – 4) and involves travel activities of a minimum of 156 days per year. The position requires a health declaration, as well as residency in Norway.

 

 

Your responsibilities for the role include, but are not limited to: 

 

  • Perform Field Service activities according to the work plan.
  • Perform advanced troubleshooting on equipment families.
  • May act as system commissioning engineer and may lead the related commissioning activities.
  • May lead and manage assigned team and related activities during the work execution.
  • Interact with customers during the work execution (e.g. conducting introduction meeting).
  • Perform internal and external progress status of the assigned work.
  • Create the Service Work Reports.
  • Ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and customer site procedures.
  • Proactively advice and promote available products and solutions to customers.

 

 

The below will enable you to shine in this role:

 

  • Certificate of apprenticeship and/or vocational technical college (documented and relevant experience can compensate for formal education).
  • Experience with and knowledge of Wärtsilä engines and products.
  • Significant experience with marine installation operations, maintenance, and repairs.
  • Experience with reporting and documentation after overhauls.
  • Proven leadership qualities and decision-making skills.
  • Service- and safety-oriented mindset.
  • Fluency in Norwegian and English, both written and spoken.
  • Willingness to travel a minimum of 156 days per year.
  • A collaborative team player mindset along with the ability to work independently.
  • Motivation to enhance knowledge and skills to grow professionally.
  • Drive for the common goal of providing our customers with the best possible service experience.
