Business Unit Field Services & Workshops (FS&WS) in Marine Power is a global organisation with harmonised ways of working and tools to deliver the best possible services for our customers. If you want to join a team where colleagues support each other, work hard, and know how to have fun, come, and apply! We are now looking for a Team Leader to join our Service Region North Europe organization in Norway. The preferred location for the position is in Rubbestadneset.


What will you be doing?


  • As a Team Leader you will be the manager of a group of travelling service engineers and superintendents based in Norway.
  • Their job is to provide service to our customers around the globe mainly on the ships and Oil Rigs.
  • Occasionally working site can be Power Plant as well.
  • Your job is to motivate and develop our employees so that they will and can perform on a high level to achieve high customer satisfaction.
  • The character of our business needs you to have good knowledge about Norwegian labour law and health & safety regulations.
  • Your main responsibilities will be to ensure that we allocate the right resources for best performance and ensure that the employees have the right competences and skill set.
  • Labour safety, meeting the Customer satisfaction and “first time right” attitude are our major goals.

To be a good Team Leader, we need you to have good leadership skills meaning high moral and ethics, a capability of showing the right directions and stand for your decisions. You need to be able to listen and be open to changes. It is important that you can have a constructive dialogue with your employees and constantly drive the business forward.


We are looking for a person who understands Wärtsilä business and importance of our customers. Since the Team Leaders belong to medium management, we expect them to understand and demonstrate their role as employer’s representative. Since we are working in an international business this job requires that you can work independently but also communicate and collaborate well in a matrix-organization.


To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher
  • Technical/engineer degree will be an advantage
  • Leadership skills & Coaching skills
  • English language - proficient level
  • Preferable a good knowledge of Norwegian labour law.
  • ICT skills
  • Planning skills & Managerial sills
  • Experience in PSM, SAP, Planning Board

Technical knowledge and experience on Wartsila engines as well as site experience are highly appreciated. Also, we are looking for person who is willing to develop further co-operation with external partner network.
