Workshop Test Engineer

Workshop Test Engineer


To our Service Workshop in Grunnavågen (Sagvåg), Wärtsilä Norway AS is looking for an engaged, proactive, and problem-solving Workshop Test Engineer
The preferred location for the position is in Stord (Sagvåg), Norway.


What you will be doing


As a Workshop Test Engineer in the service workshop, you will, among other things, prepare tests, perform testing – both internally and together with customers. You will also work on the development of the test process (standardizing test procedures, templates, documentation).
Our preferred candidate has the qualities needed for interaction both with customers and colleagues. You are also flexible in performing other and miscellaneous work in the Service Workshop.


As a Workshop Test Engineer, your work will focus on these responsibilities:

 

  • Administering test equipment and further developing our test facility
  • Component testing
  • Performing various component verifications
  • Assisting with training others (employees and/or customers)
  • Participating in the preparation of test documentation and being involved in the production of switchboards and other equipment delivered by Wärtsilä Norway AS.

 

To be successful in this role, we expect you to have:

 

  • Certificate of apprenticeship in switchboard assembly/automation or other relevant certification
  • Solution and result-oriented
  • Independent
  • Organized and quality-conscious
  • Sociable and cooperative
  • Good attitudes towards HSE (Health, Safety, and Environment)
  • Good Norwegian and English skills
  • It is an advantage if you have practice and experience in building/producing switchboards.

 

In this role, some occasional travel might be required to meet with our customers around the world.
