Service Engineer Turbo Chargers

We are now looking for a technically driven team player, to strengthen our dedicated turbocharger team. As part of our team, you will be sent out to all kinds of different Turbochargers jobs, for instance from gensets on board of container vessel, the main propulsion of inland waterway vessels or one of many generators sets of a land-based installation. Part of the works are also located in our workshop in Schiedam. This includes all aspects of inspection, overhauling and balancing of Turbo chargers from Wärtsilä, ABB, Napier, KBB, MET etc. Depending on the different scopes of works and the need for flexibility, the schedule of works might change on a day-to-day basis.


What will you be doing?

In this position, your work will include troubleshooting, repair, overhaul and modify Turbo chargers to detailed specifications. In a typical work week, you might attend 2 or 3 installations to dismantle and exchange Turbo chargers and prepare for transport. After exchanging, you will monitor the engine start up to make sure that the vessel can be safely on its way.

You will not be working on this alone, however the team setup might change per job. Where you might lead a small job yourself, the next day you can be part of a complete team, for a complete engine overhaul.

Even though the work requires a high level of independency, you will have the support

from our office personal and colleagues.

For us to be the best match, we expect you to have basic knowledge of Mechatronics, turbocharging and balancing of rotating equipment, you know the inside out of 4-stroke engines and a turbocharged mixture of oil and blood is running through your veins.

As an ideal candidate, you have gained experience from the field and knowledge of reading and understanding technical drawings and bulletins. For you to succeed in the position, we hope you to be good with the technologies that we are using nowadays and you are a team-player.

In this role, you will travel primarily in the Central Europe region, while further abroad every now and then won’t be a problem for you in good collaboration.

As a part of the work being done at our workshop in Schiedam, it is preferable to live close to Schiedam, < 30 km from Schiedam
