The role

 

We are looking for a Senior HR Manager to support our operations across Schiedam, Kruiningen and Harlingen.

In this role, you act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership, translating business strategy into impactful people strategies. You will lead and support organisational transformation, strengthen leadership capability and ensure that HR practices drive business performance and engagement.

Operating within a complex global matrix organisation, you work closely with the business, Local HR Operations, and global HR centres of expertise.

You report to the Head of HR The Netherlands.

 

 

Your impact

 

As Senior HR Manager, you will:

 

  • Act as a strategic sparring partner to senior leaders and management teams
  • Translate business priorities into people strategies, workforce planning and talent decisions
  • Lead and support organisational transformations, including restructuring, change management and cultural development
  • Advise on complex employee relations cases and ensure compliance with Dutch labor law and regulations
  • Drive leadership effectiveness and team performance, coaching managers where needed
  • Collaborate with HR COEs (e.g. Talent Acquisition, People Services, People Support Hub) to ensure aligned and high-quality HR delivery
  • Champion employee engagement, inclusion and wellbeing, strengthening Wärtsilä’s culture
  • Ensure effective local implementation of global HR policies and processes
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve HR impact and business value

 

 

What you bring

 

You are a confident and credible HR professional who combines strategic insight with pragmatic execution.

 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Human Resources or a related field
  • Minimum 8–10 years of relevant HR experience, including strategic business partnering
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch labor law, employee relations, organisational change and Project Management
  • Proven experience in a multinational, matrix organisation
  • Strong stakeholder management skills and the ability to influence at senior level
  • Experience with change management and organisational development
  • Fluent in Dutch and English
  • Experience with CAO Metalektro is a strong advantage
  • Familiarity with SuccessFactors or similar HR systems
