Welcome at Wärtsilä Netherlands! For our Engine Services Workshop in Schiedam we are looking for a TurboCharger Mechanic to join our team in the Netherlands.

 

As a Senior Mechanic it is your responsibility to work on overhauling, repairing,balancing and Inspection all kind of Turbochargers for our customers Maritime Engines.

With your practical experience working on Engines or other rotating equipment’s you will work on maintenance, repairs and overhauls of all Turbochargers in our Workshop.

On each assigned project you can use Wärtsilä manuals, drawings, and fixed measurement- /repair procedures. For experienced Mechanics we can offer the chance to work independently at your own assigned projects. Junior/trainee mechanics will be guided by one of our experienced colleagues.

 

You will have the chance to work in a technically interesting environment within the maritime industry and be part of our Engine Services Workshop team existing of approximately 20 Engine professionals

 

What are your main tasks and responsibilities?

 

• Take care of the workshop activities like assessing, and measuring of components

• You will work on disassembly, inspection, assembly and measuring of TurboChargers.

• If you find any discrepancies and/or non-conformities, you discuss and solve this with the workshop foreman and/or Team Leader.

• You work according to order/project records and checklists.

• You ensure that the work is executed according to Wärtsilä Quality, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines and procedures.

• Contribute in keeping a clean and tidy workshop, in particular his or hers own working area.

 

What do we expect from you?

 

• You hold a vocational education in Mechanical Engineering or similar.

• You have proven technical knowledge and experience with mechanical assembly procedures within a maintenance, repair, and overhaul services environment.

• The ability to read and understand technical assembly drawings and assembly instructions.

• Knowledge of repair procedures like welding or machining is seen as an advantage.

• Familiar with precision measurements and special Hydraulic and mechanical tools.

• Mother tongue Dutch and English professional proficiency.

• You can work under pressure as well as the flexibility to take part in overtime and weekend shifts if needed for certain orders/projects.
