Service & Commissioning Engineer, Exhaust Gas Cleaning installations

For our Service Unit Central Europe, we are looking for an international minded and travel focussed technician for our Exhaust Gas Cleaning (EGC) Solutions.

 

Due to international environmental regulations and the ambitions of Wärtsilä to contribute in a future without emissions or pollution, we are producing and installing Exhaust Gas Cleaning installations on vessels worldwide. Due to the increased demand for this installations, we are looking for a service minded Commissioning Engineer who is eager to learn and willing to become a specialised EGC installer.

 

You will be working in our Service Unit Central Europe, which is responsible for an optimal service by carrying out maintenance and repair work at all kind of equipment at the vessels of our marine customers.

As a Hands On expert for our EGC installations, you will perform commissioning projects as well as trouble shooting problems at the international sites of our clients. Electronic & Control Systems, PLC Programming and instrumentation is your domain.  

 

For this position you must be willing to travel extensively (worldwide) and stay abroad. Not jet experienced but ambitions enough to be educated for this position? We ware happy to discuss this position with you.

 

The preferred locations for this position are: Schiedam, Netherlands - Gdansk, Polen - Hamburg, Germany

After internal education, you will start with the following tasks and responsibilities?

  • Independently or together with colleagues you perform commissioning’s, service activities, complex repairs for marine EGC systems.
  • Execution of the above in line with organization processes and practice so as to achieve the desired time, cost and quality outcomes.
  • You know how to represent Wartsila towards our customers and the marine industry to achieve the highest customer satisfaction.
  • You provide feedback to earlier project execution phases - sales, design, engineering, purchasing and installation when needed.
  • Increasing spare part sales through customer interaction and accurate record keeping in the field
     

What do we expect from you?

  • You hold a degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, Mechatronics or similar.
  • Practical working experience within an international environment or the willingness to travel is relevant for this position.
  • Ability to understand, use and correct electrical and automation schematics and drawings.
  • Relevant "hands on" experience in the mechanical and electrical disciplines within a process setting.
  • Preferably you have experience working with: control system specification and design, PLC programming and diagnostics, marine power distribution, motor control, process sensors and instrumentation, valves, pumps, fans and/or other process system componentry.
  • Any experience from commissioning and maintenance of process systems is seen as a pré.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English, Dutch is an advantage.
  • Service and team minded, structured, good attention to detail and self-motivating
